My name is Cheryl and I am a currently working with EDS to settle my credit card debts. I have been in the program and have made roughly 19 payments. I have settled 4 of 5 credit cards and I have saved $17,000 with EDS off of my balances.

Yes we have. Several small accounts less than 5,000 and one large account of 47,000 with B Of A. We only paid a 15% settlement to B of A and that saved us close to 17,000 in settlement payments. EDS even offered to help us pay for the settlement if we couldn't come up with the money because they felt this was going to be a one time offer on our account. We gathered every penny we had and we covered the settlement and we are thrilled. I wish all of the debt settlement companies did good work like Everest it would have made it easier for me to get started sooner and I could have been done by now.

I too am an existing client of EDS but going back about 2 years. Some of what you are experiencing is to be expected. I cannot mention anything negative seeing how we did avoid going Bankrupt. Wells Fargo was very difficult to deal with initially and we did not see many results for some time. I will check my records but I believe 9-10 months into the program we received our first offer from them. From what we learned Wells has a long standing policy to ignore and harass card holders that use settlement firms to resolve their debts. Why this is we do not know however we did end up settling for a reasonable sum less than what we planned for. Customer service at EDS was always kind and courteous and after all is said and done we are happy with what we got from EDS.

Even though you are asking the creditors to call EDS they may be calling them and harassing you at the same time. Calls from creditors can be annoying however they do that the right to contact you regarding your debt owed to them. EDS has always been upfront and honest with me and my husband. We too were highly aggitated by the calls seeing how they are trained to call us at the worst times. Keep plugging away and remember that you can speed up the process by getting more money faster to settle the accounts sooner than later.
Hang in there EDS is a god-send.

| I contacted Everest after asking the chamber of commerce for help. We sat with a counselor and was able to create a payment plan that my husband and I could afford for the credit card bills. Very nice place and the people are very friendly. They work with people nationwide and have a long list of success stories. I recommend them to anyone who needs help with credit card bills. |

I saw EDS in my local chamber of commerce magazine and gave them a call about my credit cards. Very knowledgeable and courteous. We were able to make an arrangement for negotiating the debts and making a savings plan. Paperwork was easy and all of the people were very friendly. I am glad they were able to help us.

Credit Card Debt. Refinancing home for payoff!? Yahoo! Answers
We are trying to refinance to FHA to get out our equity to pay off huge credit card debt instead of bankrupcy (chapter 13). Once we get the money we owe 8 credit cards money totalling 48,000 dollars at 23%. Will they negociate with us so we can pay less - we are going to pay all credit cards off.
Additional Details
I do not want to make any payments again - we are paying these off in full if we need to . I am pretty sure I should not close them.

in my experience they will negotiate depending upon who you use. depending upon your creditors will determine your individual ability to settle your own accounts. i tried and failed in late 2006. early 2007 i signed up with everest debt solutions and so far they have saved me from bk and i didn't have to refi my house and lose my equity in my home. so far they have settled about 40k of my total 61k owed. i used my tax return this year to help settle some of the accounts sooner they don't have a prepayment penalty. also the program can affect your credit so if you don't care about your credit this is probably the best solution for you and your family.
try and avoid refinancing your home. with our economy you may want to hold onto whatever equity you have for an emergency like a new roof or other things.

I would like to thank all of the kind people I have dealt with at Everest Debt Solutions. When I first found their website I submitted a request for a confidential consultation. It was very professional and most of all probably the easiest way to help me with my credit card debt.
We emailed our agent our credit card bills and several hours later we received word that our accounts seemed to fit with their settlement guidelines and we were amazed at the deal we were given.
